How to Use DriveNote: Setup, Sales Records, Daily Report PDFs, Analysis, and Auto Search

DriveNote is an Android app for recording taxi work and managing sales, developed by an active taxi driver based on experience on the road.

Record your daily sales and work details, then review them using the calendar, lists, rankings, analysis, and search. You can start by entering sales alone and add daily reports or ride details later.

This guide walks you through setting up a reporting period, saving your first sales record, and reviewing your past work.

1. The Main Screens

DriveNote has four main tabs:

  • Input: Set your reporting period and scheduled workdays, enter daily sales, and access saved records from the calendar.
  • Records: View saved work records and daily sales rankings.
  • Analysis: Check sales totals, average sales, progress toward your target, and remaining workdays.
  • Search: Find previously recorded rides and review the details of your past work.

Start in the Input tab by setting the period you want to track.

2. Set Your Reporting Period

Choose a start and end date that match your reporting schedule, such as your monthly accounting period.

  1. In the Input tab, tap “Change Period.”
  2. Select the start date on the calendar and tap “OK.”
  3. Select the end date and tap “OK.”
  4. Check the dates shown on the Input screen, then tap “Save Period.”

The example uses August 16 through September 15. Choose the dates that suit your own reporting period.

After saving, check the period displayed at the top of the screen. The Input screen shows total sales, workdays, and average sales for that period.

3. Add Your Scheduled Workdays

Add your scheduled workdays so you can see your work schedule on the calendar.

  1. In the Input tab, open the workday settings using the button above the calendar.
  2. Tap the dates you plan to work.
  3. Close the settings screen when you have finished.
  4. Check that the selected workdays appear on the Input tab’s calendar.

Tap a date in the workday settings calendar to add or remove it as a scheduled workday.

You can also check the remaining workday count in the Analysis tab. Reviewing this alongside your sales target helps you see how many shifts remain in your plan.

4. Add Public Holidays and Holiday Periods

You can also add public holidays and holiday periods from the workday settings screen.

  1. Tap the button for adding a holiday period below the calendar.
  2. Check the selected country for public holidays.
  3. Tap the button to retrieve public holiday data.
  4. Tap the button to register the holidays.
  5. Check that the holidays appear on the calendar.

The original example retrieves public holiday data for Japan. Check the country setting before retrieving the data.

The screen also includes fields for a holiday period name, start date, and end date. These let you mark an extended holiday period, including dates that would normally be weekdays.

5. Enter and Save Daily Sales

Once your period and workdays are set, you can record sales for a workday.

  1. On the Input tab’s calendar, tap the taxi icon below the date you want to record.
  2. Check the date on the entry screen.
  3. Enter the sales amount.
  4. Tap the save button.
  5. Check that the amount appears on the calendar and in the saved records list in the Records tab.

In the example, 75,350 is entered for August 18. After saving, the amount appears below the date on the calendar and in the saved records list.

You can start by entering sales alone. Daily reports, basic details, and information entered through “Special” can be added after you save.

This allows you to record your sales first and add more detail when you have time.

6. Import a Daily Report and Save It as a PDF

You can attach a daily report to a sales record.

To add one to an existing record, open the record and choose the edit option to return to the entry screen.

  1. Tap the daily report button on the entry screen.
  2. Photograph the report with the camera, or select an existing report image from your phone.
  3. Check the report you are importing.
  4. Choose the option to save it as a PDF and create the record.

Keeping the report with your record makes it easier to review both the sales amount and the details of that day later.

7. View Your Report and Add Basic Details

View a Saved Daily Report

Tap the report icon at the upper right of the memo area to open the saved PDF. Use the back action to return to the entry screen after viewing it.

After saving a report, open the PDF once to check that the intended report is displayed.

Add Weather and Pickup Details

  1. Tap the basic information button on the entry screen.
  2. Enter details such as the weather and number of dispatched pickups.
  3. Tap the button to apply the details.
  4. Check that the information appears in the memo area.
  5. When you have finished editing, tap the update button to save the record.

The example records sunny weather and 17 dispatched pickups.

Adding the day’s conditions alongside sales gives you more context when you review the record later.

8. Add Ride Details with “Special”

Use “Special” to add details about rides you want to keep for future reference.

  1. Tap the “Special” button on the entry screen.
  2. Enter the details you want to keep, such as the time, pickup location, drop-off location, and fare.
  3. Tap the add button.
  4. Check the details added to the memo area.
  5. Tap the update button.
  6. Open the saved records list in the Records tab and check that the details have been saved.

This preserves information about individual rides that a daily sales total alone cannot show.

For example, keeping a ride’s time, locations, and how the passenger was picked up can help you find and review that experience later.

9. Review Records, Rankings, Analysis, and Auto Search

As you build up records, use the lists and analysis screens to review your work.

Records: Check Saved Information

The Records tab lets you view sales and memos for each workday.

If you have added a daily report, basic information, or ride details, review them together to recall the circumstances of that day.

Rankings: Review Your Higher-Sales Days

Daily rankings let you view saved workdays by sales amount or date.

When you find a day with higher sales, check its memo and ride details too. This helps you review how you worked that day alongside the amount earned.

Analysis: Check Results and Progress Toward Your Target

The Analysis tab brings together period sales, average sales, target progress, remaining workdays, and the average sales needed to reach your target.

For example, if you need another 300,000 to reach your target and have five workdays remaining, the average needed is 60,000 per workday. These are hypothetical amounts used to explain the calculation; use the same currency for both amounts.

Looking at your results alongside your remaining workdays helps you understand your current position relative to your target.

Auto Search: Find Past Ride Records

Auto Search in the Search tab looks through previously recorded ride data for entries matching conditions such as the current time window.

Matches show details such as pickup and drop-off locations, fares, and memos. You can use them to review the rides you recorded around a similar time in the past.

Auto Search works with previously recorded data. As you add records, you build up more of your own work history to refer to.

Start with One Day’s Sales

You do not need to fill in every field from the beginning. Start by setting your reporting period and workdays, then save one day’s sales.

As you become familiar with DriveNote, add daily reports, weather information, and ride details. DriveNote helps you keep a record of your work and use past experience when planning future shifts.
